Smile Cocktail Bar-Café, Tsilivi
One of the best bars of Zakynthos is undoubtedly Smile Cocktail Bar-Café in Tsilivi. The choice of cocktails here is so extensive, we had at least 10 cocktails here (on different nights of course) and each one tasted delicious. Also, the cocktails are very nicely presented and you get value for your money. We noticed they really went all out to give us the best cocktail experience, every cocktail came in a differently shaped glass, and almost every time we got some (edible) ornaments that came along with it (like a large chunk of pineapple, some raspberries, strawberries, a piece of passion fruit…).
You can take a seat on the terrace, it is located on the street side. We found this quite nice because you see a lot of movement and could spend the whole evening people-watching. The bar plays nice pop music and you have TV screens where you can watch soccer and such. Last but not least, the waiters here are very friendly and helpful.
Catacombs Cocktail Cafe-Bar, Alykanas
Located on a platform (kind of like a rooftop bar) in Alykanas, you can find Catacombs Cocktail Cafe-Bar. It is a very spacious terrace where you can enjoy some tasty cocktails and good music. Again, the list of cocktails they offer is gigantic, and if you think that results in inferior quality, you are mistaken! We really loved the atmosphere here, especially at night. They have little booths were you can sit a little secluded from everyone, which is awesome if you’re planning to come here on/after a romantic date. We both tried two cocktails which were very good at reasonable prices (under € 8/drink).
We can also say nothing but good things about the service. First of all, they were super friendly and made great recommendations. But what stood out for us was that they had a problem with their payment system which caused us to wait 15 minutes before the payment with our card succeeded. To make up for this, they gave us both a free shot of vodka, which was a really nice touch. If we hadn’t discovered them so late in time during our holidays, we would’ve definitely come back!
Red Apple, Tsilivi
Hidden on the side of the road in a turn, you will find the Red Apple. We were on our way back from the hotel after a long day of exploring Zakynthos when we stumbled upon this place. Fair is fair, the interior is very basic, some tables and chairs in a grassy field. This didn’t stop us from going in, and we are glad we did! The cocktails, contrary to what the place looks like, are really delicious. They make fresh mojitos (strawberry, passion fruit,…) for only € 7 and for only € 6 you can enjoy a rum coke!
They also offer snacks here, but we didn’t try them as we were just looking for some drinks. Since this was pretty close to our hotel, we drove by here just about every day and every day there were a lot of people here, both locals and tourists. That’s gotta mean something, right? Admittedly, it’s not the trendiest bar but if you’re looking for affordable AND tasty drinks, the Red Apple is definitely recommended!
