About Fox Food Market

Fox Food Market
Fox Food Market

Fox is a trendy indoor food market with 12 different food stalls. You will find different cuisines here from countries like Korea, Japan, and Greece. Although the food market is rather small, you have more than enough to choose from! You can order the classics like burgers and pizzas here, the usual suspects, but there’s also a stall specializing in fish and one in truffles. There’s literally something for everyone! At Fox Bar you can order drinks, such as wine, cocktails, beer, and soft drinks.

We really loved that there was something to eat from every “type of cuisine”, without feeling overwhelmed. If there were 3 pizza stalls, 5 places where you could get sushi, etc. then we wouldn’t be able to decide! At Fox they have a great variety of food options, with a little bit of overlap between some stalls. Not to the extent that you’ll have FOMO no matter where you order, though. 😉

The interior of Fox is really trendy, which is a big plus. In the middle you will find all the stalls, and around them you can find several wooden tables where you can take place. You have the ability to order (and pay) online, where you’ll get an email when your order is ready. Of course, ordering at the stalls is possible too! They hand you a buzzer that will go off when your order is ready, which means: food!

Another really cool thing is that, if the sun is shining, you can also take a seat on their terrace! Having the ability to sit either inside or outside is a nice extra. But the absolute best part? Fox is open 7/7 from 12 PM!

Our recommendations at Fox Food Market

Bap And Dak & Lova by César
Kawa
Roru

Bap And Dak

Bap And Dak offers amazing Korean comfort food. You can order dishes like fried chicken, fried tofu, and Japchae (sweet potato noodles) here. We tried the Japchae Spicy Chicken, these were sweet potato noodles with vegetables and spicy chicken. The reason we went for the Japchae was that we had never eaten sweet potato noodles before. We can tell you one thing, these were delicious! The chicken was indeed very spicy, we didn’t expect it to be so spicy. At first, it didn’t hit us, but after three or four bites our mouths were on fire! Worth it though. 😉 The noodles were really good too, but it was the chicken that took the cake. All in all, the whole dish was so flavorful, so we would definitely order this again!

Roru

Roru specializes in poke bowls and sushi. We are big fans of poke bowls, but because we didn’t want to feel full too soon, we decided not to go for them this time. We tried their chicken gyoza with homemade sweet chili sauce instead. These were one of the best gyoza we have ever eaten! Fresh ingredients, perfect size, lots of flavor, and a delicious sauce. What more could you ask for? We were debating whether we should order another portion, they were sooo good!

Lova by César

Ever since we discovered okonomiyaki at Astro Boy, we can’t get enough of this Japanese pancake! Unfortunately, there are very few restaurants in Belgium where you can get this. We could not believe our eyes that there was an entire stall at Fox that specializes in okonomiyaki! The chef at Lova by César offers his own version of Japanese cabbage pancakes, with different toppings such as tuna, chicken, and veggies. We tried the one with shrimp tempura, this was delicious! Although the taste does not compare to the okonomiyaki at Astro Boy, we found this to be very tasty as well. It’s something so unique, and we love the direction the chef took to create these dishes. We especially liked the toppings! Our preference is still the okonomiyaki at Astro Boy, but Lova by César offers a creative alternative that tastes really good too!

Kawa

We were in the mood for something sweet to end our day. At Kawa you can find different sweet snacks, desserts, and ice cream. They also offer hot drinks (hot chocolate, coffee, lattes…) if you need a coffee with your dessert. Our first plan was to share the carrot cake, but then our eye fell on their cream puffs. They had different flavors like snickers, pistachio, and yuzu.

Since everything looked delicious, we ordered three different flavors: yuzu, pistachio, and passionfruit cheesecake. Super tasty! The pistachio was great, although it lacked that extra spark of pistachio that Thysia is so fond of. The passion fruit was truly a flavorbomb, as if you’re drinking a shot of pornstar martini (without the alcohol of course). But the yuzu is the one that surprised us the most. It tastes a bit like lemon, only slightly sweeter and little hints of flowers. It is the first time we tasted yuzu, but certainly not the last! It truly was the big star of our dessert.

On our bucket list

Yes indeed, we tried lots of dishes! Unfortunately we were not able to try everything we wanted, because our stomachs were so full. So that’s why we, for our and your future reference, wanted to mention the one thing that we’ll definitely try next time. We both love truffle dishes, so when we saw the stall “Le comptoir de la truffe noire”, we were so sad that we had already eaten so much! Here you can get all kinds of truffle dishes, like carpaccio with truffle and different pastas with truffle. The cannelloni stuffed with ricotta, parmesan and truffle béchamel sauce, and topped with fresh summer truffles sounds so good! We can’t wait to come back and try some dishes at this stall.
